This page explains what cookies and similar technologies GoldenPalm Novels uses, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy at /privacy.

Essential cookies

These keep the site working and can't be turned off. Without them, you wouldn't be able to sign in, stay signed in, or have the site remember basic settings like your theme.

Sign-in and session. When you sign in, we set a cookie that keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it, you'd be logged out on every page load.
Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile on sign-up and sign-in to tell real visitors apart from automated abuse. It sets a small verification cookie, without the puzzle-style challenges older tools use.
Your cookie choice itself. We store your analytics preference (accepted or rejected) so we don't have to ask you every time you visit. This is stored in your browser's local storage, not a traditional cookie, but it works the same way and serves the same essential purpose.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages get read, roughly how many visitors we get, that kind of thing. This helps us fix what's broken and build what's actually useful.

Google Analytics is never loaded until you say yes. When you first visit, we ask. If you accept, analytics loads and your IP address is anonymized before it's sent to Google. If you decline, or just close the banner without choosing, analytics never loads at all, not in a reduced form, not at all.

Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we'll ask again. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Prefs" link in the footer. If you switch from accepted to rejected, analytics stops immediately, in that same session, without needing to reload the page.

What we don't use cookies for

We don't use cookies for advertising. GoldenPalm doesn't run ads, doesn't use ad-tracking cookies, and doesn't share your browsing activity with advertising networks, because there aren't any to share it with.

We don't use cookies to track you across other websites. Nothing here follows you once you leave GoldenPalm Novels.

Third parties involved

Google Analytics, only after you've accepted analytics cookies.
Cloudflare, for bot protection during sign-up and sign-in. This one is essential and runs regardless of your analytics choice, the same way it would on any site that needs to tell people apart from bots.

How to control your choice

Use the "Cookie Prefs" link in the footer at any time to open the preference panel and change your answer. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser's own settings, which will reset your choice and we'll ask again on your next visit.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to what we use or why, we'll update the date below and, where the change is significant, let you know through the site. Continuing to use GoldenPalm Novels after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
